SBL CBE Introduction
ACCA is launching CBEs for the Strategic Technical Exams at selected locations from March 2020.

Small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will struggle with trade if measures to social distancing continue
Accessing a survey sample of accountants representing nearly 9,000 SMEs throughout the UK, the results indicate that on average 16 percent of SMEs said they conclude that social distancing would make it difficult or unviable to reopen their business – equivalent to about 1,500 SMEs represented in this study sample.
Alarmingly, as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak, only 27 per cent of SMEs have written financial forecasts or business plans that were reviewed. Compounding cashflow issues, feedback also shows continuing questions about lockdown access to finance for about 13 weeks.
Among accountants who have made inquiries on behalf of their clients about the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS), 37 percent were accepted and 21 percent refused.
As small businesses also look to fund through the alternative Bounce Back Loan Program, 40 percent of SMEs estimate that their Bounce Back Loan sum will not be enough in the next 12 months to cover their liabilities.
